Cheap Synths
Punk meets Pop Art for the branding of the music duo Cheap Synths. The project included logos, album covers, and a custom font. The band’s original name changed during the early development of the project, but references to Roy Lichtenstein and horror films stuck.
One of the band’s biggest ambitions was to release a new song every week of 2020. This led to the artwork having an astrological theme. Handwritten letters were translated into a tyepface to stay consistent with the DIY aesthetic. Martin Eisler, an artist in film and television, provided the technical engineering to complete the font.
Cheap Synths closed out the year with over 60 singles.
